Is Pulpit AI Worth It? Pricing, Features, and Who It Fits
Pulpit AI is the name most pastors see first when they look up church AI or sermon repurposing. The question underneath a Pulpit AI review is usually simple: is it worth paying for, or is there a better fit for your church?
This is an honest look at what Pulpit AI says it does, what it costs, and who it is strongest for. We make Amenflow, a Pulpit AI alternative, so we will say so rather than pretend this is a neutral magazine review. Pulpit AI details below come from pulpitai.com and pulpitai.com/pricing, checked November 7, 2026.
What Pulpit AI does
Pulpit AI takes a sermon you upload and turns it into follow-up content. According to its public pages, that includes:
- Unlimited custom and automatic video clips, with captions you can style (fonts, colors, size and karaoke-style highlighting)
- Group guides and discussion questions
- Daily devotionals
- Blog posts and sermon recap emails
- Summaries, transcripts, notable quotes and Scripture references, including verses it says it can find to back up concepts you mentioned
- Unlimited chat with your sermon
- Related passages, illustrations and application
- An AI sermon assistant for sermon prep: openers, transitions, metaphors, practical application and historical citations
- A connection to the Subsplash Dashboard, so resources can be generated from media already stored there
They describe this as more than 20 pieces of content from one sermon. You can upload video, audio, PDFs and other documents or slides.
That is a broad product. It covers the week after Sunday, and it also steps into sermon preparation through the assistant. If you want one subscription that touches both sides of the pulpit, that combination is a large part of why churches look at it.
Pulpit AI pricing
The pricing page lists three monthly plans:
| Plan | Price | File uploads a month |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $39/mo | 5 |
| Standard | $59/mo | 10 |
| Top tier | $129/mo | 25 |
Annual billing is listed at about 10% off (the first two annual prices shown are $421.20 and $637.20). Features are the same across plans; you are paying for how many sermons you process, not for a locked set of extras.
A church that uploads about four Sundays a month can stay on the entry plan. A church with multiple preachers, midweek services or a podcast that also gets processed will run through 5 uploads quickly.
We have seen Pulpit AI list a free trial of 2 uploads. Trial terms change, so confirm the current offer on their site.
Where Pulpit AI is strongest
Pulpit AI is likely worth a serious look if several of these are true:
- Short-form video is a priority, and you want unlimited clips rather than a set number per sermon.
- You want to style captions inside the tool.
- Your church already uses Subsplash and does not want to re-upload media.
- You want an AI assistant that helps with sermon prep as well as follow-up content.
- You prefer to pay annually and save a bit each month.
Those are real strengths, taken from their own site, not a knock against them.
Where it may not be the best fit
Pulpit AI may be more than you need, or the wrong shape, if:
- You want more sermons per month at a similar price. Amenflow's matching plans include 6, 12 and 30 sermons at $38, $58 and $128 a month.
- You need a kids' lesson or Spanish versions in the same pack. Amenflow includes those with every sermon; we did not find them listed on Pulpit AI's home or pricing pages.
- You would rather paste a podcast RSS feed than upload files each week.
- You do not want a tool that also helps write sermon material. Amenflow refuses that work on purpose.
- You want to try more than two sermons before you pay, without putting a card down. Amenflow's trial is 3 sermons, every feature, no credit card.

So, is Pulpit AI worth it?
It can be, if clips, caption control, sermon-prep help or Subsplash are what your church will actually use. A tool is worth it when the time it saves each week is worth more than the subscription, and when the drafts sound like your pastor after a normal review.
It is not automatically the right buy just because it is the best-known name. If your church is small, your communications team is one person, and you care about a complete midweek pack (including kids and Spanish) more than unlimited clips, try Amenflow on last Sunday's sermon and compare the two outputs yourself.
We will not invent church results or rankings to make that case. The honest test is the one you can run this week: put the same sermon through the tool you are considering, read every draft, and see whether your team would actually share it.
