Why the sermon is your best source of posts
Most small churches struggle with social media for one reason: nobody has time to think of something new to say every day. But every week your church already produces 30 to 45 minutes of carefully prepared, Scripture-centered content. Posting from the sermon means:
- You never start from a blank page. The ideas, verses and best lines already exist.
- Your feed stays consistent with your pulpit. Members see the same big idea on Sunday and on their phones on Wednesday.
- People who missed Sunday still hear the message. For many, a post is the only part of the sermon they'll see that week.
Step 1: Pull five things from the sermon
Listen back or skim the transcript (or the pastor's notes) and write down:
- The big idea in one sentence.
- The main Scripture passage, and any other verses that were read.
- Two or three quotable lines, word for word. Keep them short enough to read on a phone.
- One question the sermon raised or asked the congregation.
- The "this week" step: what the sermon asked people to do.
That's enough for a full week of posts.
Step 2: Write five posts in five styles
Variety keeps your feed from feeling repetitive. Use each item above once:
- Quote post (Monday): one line from the sermon, with the sermon title and series. Quote exactly what was said; never polish it into something the pastor didn't preach.
- Scripture post (Tuesday): the main passage with a one-line reflection drawn from the message.
- Question post (Wednesday): the sermon's question, inviting comments. "How would you answer this?" works well.
- Midweek encouragement (Thursday): the "this week" step, written as a gentle reminder.
- Invite post (Friday or Saturday): a warm invitation to this Sunday, mentioning what's next in the series.

Step 3: Add one short clip
A 30 to 60 second vertical clip of the best moment, with captions, usually reaches further than any text post. Our guide to church sermon clips covers picking the moment, cutting it and captioning it.
Step 4: Schedule the week in one sitting
Batch it. On Monday morning, write all five captions, pick your images (a simple branded background with the quote works fine), and schedule them with the free scheduler built into Facebook and Instagram (Meta Business Suite). One focused session beats trying to post something new every day.
Good practice
- Stay faithful to what was preached. Don't add claims, stories or "quotes" the pastor didn't say.
- Check every verse reference before posting.
- Get permission for photos of people, especially children.
- Keep it simple. A plain, readable quote graphic posted consistently does more than a polished post once a month.
The faster way: let Amenflow draft the week
Amenflow is built for small churches with no media team. Upload Sunday's recording (or paste your podcast feed, or add the manuscript) and it drafts five social captions in different styles (quote, question, invite, scripture and midweek), timestamped key quotes checked word for word against the recording, and branded 1080p clips in vertical, feed and landscape sizes (Starter 3 / Standard 5 / Pro 8), along with a newsletter, small group guide, devotional and kids' lesson. Everything is a draft for you to review; Amenflow never posts anything for you.

Frequently asked questions
How many social media posts can one sermon make?
Easily five to seven: a quote, a Scripture post, a discussion question, a midweek encouragement, an invite for next Sunday, and one or more short clips. Amenflow drafts five captions and 3 to 8 clips (by plan) from every sermon.
Will an AI tool put words in my pastor's mouth?
Amenflow is instructed to stay faithful to what was actually preached and not to invent stories or quotes. Key quotes are checked word for word against the recording, and everything is a draft for you to review before anything is shared.
Does Amenflow post to social media for me?
No. Amenflow never publishes or sends anything on its own. You copy the captions and download the clips, then post them yourself or schedule them in your usual tool.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. You can try Amenflow on 3 sermons free, with every feature and no credit card.
